Our next meeting will tackle George Chapman's 'An Humorous Day's Mirth', a hit for the Admiral's Men in 1597. The first English comedy to be set in contemporary London, and pre-dating Jonson's 'Humour' plays, this experimental and innovative drama pomises to be a fun and interesting read for the group. The text is available on EEBO or as a new (2010) edition edited by Charles Edelman.
We welcome new members and suggestions for texts, we look forward to seeing you.
