Event Description

The Material Texts network at the English & Humanities Graduate Lecture Series, this Thursday, 7.30pm, room 509, Malet Street building.

Three short papers -- and discussion - about material texts in current research projects. In 'Books and other things', Isabel Davis will discuss customised Books of Hours. Gill Partington will talk about 'Books versus Literature in Fahrenheit 451' -- using the various incarnations and publishing histories of Bradbury's novel to think about the material (and immaterial) text. Carol Watts will consider what insights our thinking about material texts might gain from performance-based research.

Followed by drinks. All Birkbeck and University of London staff and postgraduate students are welcome.
