Anybody Interested in Cognitive Approaches?

Would anybody out there be interested in attending/helping to set up a seminar/reading group on cognitive approaches to English and the Humanities?

What is the role of metaphoric/figurative thought in human cognition? How has literature manifested historical changes in attitudes towards brain and body? What is the relationship between narrative and consciousness? What is the role of emotion in cultural practices?

This is just a random sample of some of the questions thrown up by the intersection of literature and the cognitive sciences. With the exponential growth of fields such as “consciousness studies”, cognitive poetics and cognitive-influenced approaches to literary studies promise to be of increasing importance. But unless I’m missing something (please let me know if I am) there is nothing happening at the moment across the University of London in terms of a dedicated seminar/reading group. Anyone else interested in putting that right?
