I am running a public engagement project on the representation of physical disability in culture and literature. I am seeking speakers whose research is in this area to contribute to a series of public discussion group events which will take place in May & June 2011 in London. The speakers would need to speak for about 5 or 10 minutes on an aspect of their research.
The project is part of the Train & Engage scheme, which helps students develop activities which open up their research to an audience outside of the academy. Train & Engage is managed by the UCL Public Engagement Unit.
Interested? Find out more at http://physicaldisabilityinculture.blogspot.com/ or contact me on Dandelion.
Thanks very much for your message, your paper sounds extremely interesting and relevant to the project I'm running. It also sounds as though we have quite a lot in common in terms of what we're researching. Let's discuss further by email - I think we can send emails to each other via Dandelion if we are 'friends' so I have sent you a friend request.
Thanks again and I look forward to meeting you!
