Anyone considering teaching in higher education could do worse than follow Mark Fisher's blog at http://k-punk.abstractdynamics.org/. Fisher's book, Capitalist Realism, is an invigorating read, a very contemporary polemic, and even if you're disinclined to follow his post-marxist touchstones - Zizek and Badiou are the most frequently cited theoretical sources - his practical experience of teaching in further education and relation of this to his theorisation of capitalist realism is very engaging. The posts on his blog recently have tended to focus on his conceptualisation of nubureaucracy, and it has become a rallying point for dissatisfaction with the auditing culture inherent in state education.
Apologies if this is not news, but it's very informative stuff!
