Does your research explore the physically disabled body in culture / literature?

I am running a public engagement project on the representation of physical disability in culture and literature. I am seeking speakers whose research is in this area to contribute to a series of public discussion group events which will take place in May & June 2011 in London. The speakers would need to speak for about 5 or 10 minutes on an aspect of their research.

The project is part of the Train & Engage scheme, which helps students develop activities which open up their research to an audience outside of the academy. Train & Engage is managed by the UCL Public Engagement Unit.

Interested? Find out more at http://physicaldisabilityinculture.blogspot.com/ or contact me on Dandelion.

Thanks,

Harriet

Hi Harriett,
'Physical Disability in Culture and Literature' sounds really interesting. Would there be any scope for a short paper entitled 'Disability and the Artist in Mina Loy's "Lunar Baedeker" (1923)'?
Best,
Anna

Hi Anna,

Thanks very much for your message, your paper sounds extremely interesting and relevant to the project I'm running. It also sounds as though we have quite a lot in common in terms of what we're researching. Let's discuss further by email - I think we can send emails to each other via Dandelion if we are 'friends' so I have sent you a friend request.

Thanks again and I look forward to meeting you!

Harriet
