About

mendoza is a London based poet, founder of the ninerrors poetry series and editor of FREAKLUNG poetry zine. Investigating identity through poetic practice, mendoza writes and performs under several personas, most notably Linus Slug, occasionally Tommy Peeps and/or Elffish Jon. The work references Northumbrian history, North-Eastern dialect as well as insect folklore and mythology. Exploring the idea of containment through self-imposed boundaries in the form of the nine-line, strategies of multiple authorship through manipulation and layering of found text are employed as a means of examining the tension that exists between the interior and exterior ‘self’.
